I wanted to thank your organization again for this great honor. This recognition is a reminder of all the hard work I have put in to get myself to this point. I will be attending Bentley University in the Fall playing the sport I love as a Falcon! It has been my lifelong dream to play tennis in college and that dream will finally be a reality. I will be majoring in business and hope to someday use the valuable skills and connections I have made playing tennis to have a
successful career.

Gabriella Belder

Team Fellowship Award Winner

I wanted to thank you again for this scholarship. My plans for the future are that I will be attending University of South Florida, this coming fall, in the main Tampa campus. I will be majoring in either biology, or exercise science, going down a pre-med track to either become a sports medicine doctor, or a physical therapist. I also applied for the Living Learning Community at USF, where I am waiting to hear back from. If I get in, I will be able to room with people who are also pursuing to become a rising health professional. I strive to build connections in my new USF community and take advantage of as many opportunities I can come across. With this, receiving the team fellowship award has granted me recognition that I have the skills to encourage people around me, and use my collaborative skills in a learning environment. I feel very grateful for this recognition, and will keep my enthusiastic energy as I conquer the next four years of college, and in my future, not just as a health professional, but as a citizen and fellow teammate of the world around me. Thank you again for everything, have a great day!

Extraordinary Community Service Award Winner

Firstly, I would like to thank Al DeSimone’s ‘Charity for Champions’ non-profit organization for choosing me as a recipient of their scholarship. I am currently majoring psychology at Florida International University and I aspire to become a forensic psychologist. Gaining this scholarship not only helps me financially in school but this helped to keep my hope alive. A lot of students stop trying to further their education because of financial difficulties and I was almost an example. Additionally, constant scholarship rejections can cause an individual, like myself, to give up. However I want to encourage all to keep applying to every scholarship since you never know when your luck might hit. Overall, in the future my main goal is to be able to help others as great as Al DeSimone’s ‘Charity for Champions’ has helped me!

Thank you for the Charity for Champions Leadership Award Honorable Mention. Being part of the selection process was a great experience. I really appreciate the feedback I was given. I’m proud to be part of the Charity for Champions nonprofit which truly looks at what each individual student has to offer. Thank you for sharing your experience as a student with me. The obstacles that you overcame provide motivation for me. I have also been accepted into the Fastrack Program and will enroll in the Leadership Endorsement Program as well.

This scholarship means a lot to me because it gives me the opportunity to further my education in something I am passionate about which is Athletic training leading into Physical Therapy. I am continuing my education and The University of Tampa which is a private school and that is where this scholarship means so much. I appreciate everything you’ve done to make that possible!
