An Update from Erin McSoley
I started Cadet Basic Training for USMA on July 1st. CBT lasted a total of six straight weeks of military training and development which concluded with our 12 mile ruck back to West Point on August 12. After the march back we had Acceptance day which was when I was officially accepted into the Corps of Cadets. We started classes that following Monday. I am currently taking 25.5 credit hours this semester.
I recently was selected to be my company's representative for the Cadet Public Relations Committee (CPRC) which deals with seniors in high school wanting to visit west point and get a cadets perspective on cadet life. Also, I made the Ski Patrol Team and is currently taking classes to become Outdoor Emergency Care certified before the winter season. I stay busy with all classes, physically training, cadet duties, Ski patrol classes, and CPRC preparations for incoming seniors right now.
